Lake Region Healthcare is a not-for-profit health care system based in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, United States. Lake Region Healthcare owns and operates two hospitals, 10 clinics, a cancer center, a senior living community, and other health and wellness ventures in west central Minnesota. The organization serves populations in Minnesota and North Dakota.

History[edit]

Lake Region Healthcare was formed as the result of the 1953 merger of two Fergus Falls, MN hospitals. St. Luke's Hospital, founded in 1903, merged with Wright Memorial Hospital to become Lake Region Healthcare Corporation. Wright Memorial Hospital began serving patients in 1905. The 1953 merger resulted in Wright Memorial Hospital being acquired by St. Luke's Hospital and subsequent relocation of all operations to the St. Luke's Hospital site.[6]

Cancer Care & Research Center[edit]

Lake Region Healthcare and the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation launched a capital campaign in 2008 to construct a $9.6 million comprehensive cancer care center. The 15,000-square-foot cancer care center project was constructed on the south portion of the Lake Region Healthcare campus. The facility opened in 2010 and provides comprehensive cancer care services, including radiation oncology.[12][13][14]

Mill Street Residence[edit]

Lake Region Healthcare owns and operates Mill Street Residence as an assisted living facility. Mill Street Residence, located in Fergus Falls, opened in 1996.
