Lalit Narayan Jha (born 15 January 1984) is an Indian journalist, columnist, writer, and news anchor from Mailam, Madhubani, Bihar. He is the founder and editor of Mithila Mirror[1]. He also works with Electronic Media Monitoring Centre in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry as a news monitor and has also worked with several Hindi and Maithili news channels.
Early life & education
Jha was born in Madhubani, India. He completed his higher secondary education from R K College, Madhubani, Bihar. Later, he did a PG Diploma in Mass Communication from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kolkata.
Career
Lalit has been working in the broadcasting and electronic media industry since 2004. With utmost passionate dedication towards the development of Mithila society, he has been working creatively in the field of Hindi language media for over 10–11 years, focusing on social and political issues. He has worked with many media channels and completed his internship at Zee News, Kolkata.
In 2005, he joined a crime magazine and later, in 2007, he joined a national daily, “Mayam,” and was posted in Kolkata as a special correspondent. Meanwhile, he was associated with "Mithila Samwad" and many other journals as an independent journalist.
Further, in 2009, he joined ‘Real Watch’ magazine in Kolkata as bureau chief. In the same year, after a news internship at Zee News Kolkata, he worked as a special correspondent at ‘Taza TV’ in Kolkata. After that, he worked with ‘Saubhagya Mithila TV’ channel as an Anchor Producer and as a Bureau Chief at ‘TV24’ in Delhi. Later, he joined ‘Khoj India’ as an Anchor and Producer, and held the same designation at ‘Har Khabar’.
In May 2017, Lalit Narayan Jha led the campaign[2] and played a pivotal role in bringing this incident to the police and media's attention. Afterward, several organizations, such as Mithila Student Union,
Awards
In August 2016, he was honored[3] with "The Heroes Award"[4] 2016 by a non-governmental organization at the New Delhi Constitution Club. He was also conferred[5] with "Maithili Samman"[6] 2016 by Mithila Vikash Parishad Kolkata.[7] In the same year, Jha was honored with the "Youth Journalism"[8] award[9] by Mithila Cultural Committee, Guwahati[10].
