Landen Purifoy (born: November 2, 1999[1]) is an American YouTuber and TikTok creator known for playing around with objects and musical instruments, often to mimic a famous, well-known, or globally recognized hit song, including but not limited to Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" (1998)[2], Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" (2001)[3], or Bruno Mars' "24K Magic" (2016).[4] He will also play these songs in front of a toy that copies nearby sounds it hears to hear the talkbox effect in them.
History
Purifoy created his YouTube channel on July 11, 2011, and uploaded his first video on February 3, 2018. However, this video has been privated.
Content
Purifoy's most popular content consists of shorts of him doing emoji challenges, where he chooses select emojis and grabs their respective everyday object to replicate the instrument and beat of a famous song. Typically the viewers would have to guess which song he is performing by the time the short ends, while he also has a small television in the background hinting out the song. Such songs can be either classic songs, such as Eiffel 65's "I'm Good (Da Ba Dee)" (1998)[5], or newer songs that become popular via trending on TikTok, such as Jack Harlow's "Lovin On Me" (2023).[6]
Purifoy's favorite instrument is the talkbox, a small cube-shaped electronic device connected to a tube he places in his mouth to distort his voice into a robotic-like singing voice.[7] He also uses an artificial intelligence (AI) voice model of other artists in his shorts, mainly of Charlie Puth and John Legend.[8][9][10] He once teased Auglur from My Singing Monsters prior to its release. He also had voiced BeMeebEth for the game after Auglur was released.
