Latika Bhandari (born 08 March 1994) is an Indian taekwondo player [1]. As of June 2021, she is the top-ranked female taekwondo player in India.[2] She was awarded by the Madhya Pradesh Highest Sports award Vikram Award in 2012.

Early life[edit]

Latika was born on 08 March 1994 in Nainital.[3] Latika belongs to kumaun family. Her father is retired army person from Assam Rifles. She starts playing taekwondo at the age of 10 in the local club of Nainital. At the age of 14 she went to Madhya Pradesh taekwondo academy.

Career[edit]

She won her first gold medal in 2008 at school games. In the year of 2008 she went to Madhya Pradesh taekwondo academy after that her career goes high. she won nearly 15 national[4] taekwondo championships including two times National Games of India champion. She partcipates three times in World Taekwondo Championships. She played for india in three consecutive Asian Games in 2010 Asian Games , 2014 Asian Games and 2018 Asian Games.
