Lauren Bowman Bis is an American civil servant, serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Media Relations in the US Department of Homeland Security.[1]
Early life and education
Bis attended the University of Texas at Austin.[2]
Career
Bis previously served as director of communications and engagement for the Public Interest Legal Foundation, a conservative group that sued states to release voter registration lists in the aftermath of the 2020 elections.[3][4][5]
Second Trump Administration
Bis is a member of the second Trump Administration, working with the Office of Public Affairs under Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.[1]
Since 2025, Bis has appeared in videos published by the Department of Homeland Security's social media accounts, including on fact checking "the lies of the media”.[6][7]
