Lauren McLean is an American politician and entrepreneur who has served as a member of the Boise City Council since 2011, and as council president since 2017.[2] Boise City Council seats are officially nonpartisan, though McLean is a registered Democrat.[3][4]
Education and Career
McLean received her B.A. University of Notre Dame and an Master of Public Administration in environmental policy from Boise State University.[5]
McLean serves on the Board of Governors of the Andrus Center for Public Policy at Boise State University.[6] She is also a member of the Boise City Planning and Zoning Association and Boise Parks Commission[7]
McLean was a candidate in the 2019 Boise mayoral election, running against incumbent Dave Bieter, former mayor H. Brent Coles, and others.[8] Since neither Bieter nor McLean had surpassed the 50% vote threshold required to claim victory, the two will compete in a runoff election scheduled for December 3, 2019.[9]
Personal life
McLean was born in Boston, and raised in Houston and Cazenovia, New York.[10]
