Leadhome, commonly referred to as Leadhome Properties, is a South African real estate brokerage headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa.[1] The company was founded in 2015 and operates as a subsidiary of Home Group Investment Holdings.[2][3]
History[edit]
Leadhome was founded by Marcél du Toit and Harry Hattigh in November 2015.[4] Du Toit, who graduated from Oxford University in London, previously served as the vice-president of mergers and acquisitions at Deutsche Bank in Johannesburg and Hattingh served as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa.[2][3]
After its initial round of funding in 2017, the company started an online bond origination service called Bondspark focusing on Home Finance that later spun off into a separate entity.[5][6]
In June 2017 the company launched an online platform called Simpli with the aim to provide transparency throughout the sales process. The platform was subsequently renamed to Bloom.[7]
Leadhome started operations in Johannesburg and Pretoria and launched to estate agents in Cape Town and Durban in 2019.[8]
The company launched its rentals division.[9][10]
Business model[edit]
The company charges sellers a fixed fee based on the value of their property, to sell their property using agents, business intelligence and technology.[11][12]
