Leeza Mangaldas is an Indian actress, model, sex-positive content creator[1][2] journalist[3][4] and anchor by profession.[5]

Early life and background

Leeza Mangaldas was born to Arjun Mangaldas and Ritu Nanda in Bangalore, India.[6] She is half Gujarati, half Punjabi. She spent her childhood in Goa.[7] Her brother Buddhadev Mangaldas is a first-class cricketer who plays for Goa.[8] She attended high school in Kodaikanal and then got her BA at Columbia University in New York City. At Columbia she was a "Global Scholar" and spearheaded an interfaith lecture series called Living Peace in association with The Tibet Center.[9] She also took acting classes at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Leeza Mangaldas started her career as a model and was Femina Miss India South 2012 finalist.[10][11][12] Leeza has anchored a travel segment on the auto show Topspeed, on ET Now.[13][14][15] She has written articles for Open Magazine and CNN.com.[16] She also co-founded an ongoing educational platform called Evoke India with a focus on topics as varied as personal finance and sexual health, that are under addressed in school curricula.[17] She acted in an independent film called W which released in 2014, addressing gendered violence in India. She currently lives in Mumbai.[18] Leeza started her YouTube channel in 2017 to add science to sex.[19][20][21][22] Leeza was also an anchor in Indian Super League.[23]

Awards and recognition

In 2020, Leeza featured in POPxo Power Women List.[24] She was also in the list of GQ's 25 Most Influential Young Indians 2020-21.[25]
