Legends of Callasia is a turn-based strategy game developed and published by Boomzap Entertainment and released in 2016 for PC, iOS and Android.
Gameplay[edit]
The game is a simultaneous turn-based strategy game similar to the Civilization series and the board game Risk. Players control various heroes and units and must capture territory and construct buildings and improvements. The player is also given a hand of disposable cards that help provide them with benefits in an effort to win.[2]
The game features three factions to choose from, each with eight different playable heroes. The Stoneborne expansion adds an additional faction with eleven additional playable heroes.
Expansions[edit]
The first expansion released was The Stoneborne which launched in October, 2016. The expansion introduced the new 'Stoneborne' playable faction and includes a 10-level campaign, 11 new heroes from the Stoneborne, 20 new cards and 20 playable maps.[3]
Reception[edit]
Nick Vigdahl of Pocket Tactics rated the iPad version positively giving it four out of five stars and said "Legends of Callasia is a great way to spend an hour or an afternoon."[4]
Awards[edit]
In 2016, the game had won both the 'Best Multiplayer Game' and 'Excellence in Gameplay' awards at the 1st International Mobile Gaming Awards Southeast Asia.[5] The game also won the Editor's Choice 'Creativity Award' from the Slide DB 5th Annual App of the Year Awards.[6]
