Gameplay[edit]

Crowsworn is a 2D Metroidvania action-adventure game,[3] that takes place in the fictional land of Fearanndal. The player controls a character that resembles a plague doctor, while exploring a ruined world. The player can fight enemies using a scythe, pistols, and magic. The game features a large interconnected world filled and features platforming challenges. The player can unlock new abilities that will allow them to access new parts of the map. The game will feature boss fights, and a boss rush mode.

Development[edit]

Crowsworn is being developed by Mongoose Rodeo, a team composed of experienced developers. Matthew Griffin, who worked with Team Cherry, is responsible for marketing. The team cites Hollow Knight, Bloodborne and Devil May Cry as inspirations. Development is funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over 1,250,000CA$ in total.

Initially the game was met with controversy due its similarities to Hollow Knight, and some accused it of unoriginality.[4]
