Lenny Green born and raised in Brooklyn. He is host of the radio show “The Quiet Storm with Lenny Green”. You can hear him on the highly rated tri-state radio station WBLS (http://www.wbls.com) playing old school and today’s R&B, weekdays from 7:00pm to midnight.

Early Childhood[edit]

Green grew up singing around the house with his mother and brother. At the age of 12 he made his public singing debut at the world Famous Apollo Theatre’s Amateur Night as the lead singer of his teenage R&B trio.[1] (insert citation) Later, as a student at Kingsborough Community College he set his sights on Radio studying road cast communications, and becoming an in demand voice both on campus and regionally. ==Early Career==After college Lenny worked behind the scenes at New York's Channel 5, hosted two music video shows, and played the part of a disc jockey in the longest running Off-Broadway production, "Mama I Want To Sing."[2] In the mid 1980's, Lenny decided to spread his devotion into the scene of radio, which has taken him from Virginia to Connecticut. Upon perfecting and sharpening his skills, Lenny came back home to the city where he has remained ever since, joining the KISS FM on-air staff in 1994, and now sharing his talents nightly on 107.5 WBLS.

Radio career[edit]

Green began his radio career outside of his home market, as an on air personality in Richmond, VA. Later he became morning/midday man and eventually evening host, while also being the Music Director spot at WNHC-AM Radio in New Haven, CT. In 1995, he joined the WRKS 98.7 KISS-FM family as part time personality and then Assistant Program Director and Host of the Popular Love Show,” Kissing After Dark with Lenny Green”, where he remained until KISS FM was sold to YMF Media.[3]

Now, Green has become a syndicated on air personality.[4] Over the years, Lenny has interviewed celebrities from music, film, theatre like Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Tyrese, Jay Z.

Hobbies[edit]

Lenny does voice over work and radio programming consulting. He is tireless in his community work so that he can assist others, hosts numerous charity events and lending his time to a variety of worthwhile causes. He is an aspiring actor and writer, including contributing to the bestselling book, Soul Of My Brother. He helped organize an artist management/event marketing company, High End Entertainment.

Awards[edit]

He has proven that his love for music has made him one of the best in the broadcast industry, receiving Billboard Magazine's 1999 Air Personality of the Year Award.

Personal life[edit]

Outside of radio, some other things that Lenny has a love for is acting, cross-country skiing, playing tennis and encouraging children to pursue their dreams.
