Notable Projects[edit]

Ana Mawhub[edit]

Project Idea

As we met, during our projects, blind kids with wonderful voices, orphans with great acting skills, disabled kids with amazing musical talents and poor kids with stunning dancing skills, we decided to arrange an event that will highlight those talents and affect those kids.

We started working on “Ana Mawhub” aiming to bring those talents altogether under one roof, providing them with the audience to listen, watch and scout those undiscovered talents and most importantly make those kids enjoy a wonderful experience.

Project objective

Create a wonderful night for the poor, blinds, orphans, and disabled kids with talents to enjoy.

Provide them with a cheering audience, making it possible for these talents to prosper and develop with the addition of giving the kids a night to remember.

Moreover, we aim to offer the audience with a remarkable night, and entertain them with these wonderful talents.

All the raised funds will be directed towards organizing the event itself and covering all the necessary expenses. Any excess funds will be used to renovate orphanages and provide them with their essential needs hence; we are depending on your generous contributions that will help us accomplish our mission.

Project history

“Ana Mawhub” was held for the first time in 2010 and took place in Pharos University hall and the audience reached 800. It included discovering the talents of the kids of 9 orphanages and homes. Ramadan to Go[edit]

Project Idea

The idea behind the project goes 23 years back when Dr. Karim Salah (the founder of Ramadan to Go project) was only 8 years old and his mum was very sick, when she recovered she cooked rice and meat and distributed these meals to traffic policemen.

This was kept in Dr. Karim’s mind till we had a small meeting just few weeks before Ramadan in Sixties dinner, and we came out with the idea of Ramadan to Go.

The project started 11 years ago, exactly in year 2000, Dr. Ahmed El Anguibawi was the LEO president at that time, where the LEO situation was not that favorable, as we went down to 6 active members in the club. We were looking for an event that rescues our club from falling down and closing. And here came Ramadan to Go the project that brought LEO Alexandria back to Life and increased our club members, our publicity and creditability.

Project objective

Provide everyday meals and charity bags with the necessary amount of food supplies and components for the whole month for poor families inside and outside Alexandria.

We manage to cover most of the outskirts of Alexandria (El-Ras El-Soda, El-Mamoura El-Balad, Khorshid, Mezra, El-Zawayda, Ezbet Sekina, Ezbet El-Neswan, Abees, Masakn El-Oboor), areas into the heart of Alexandria (Moharam Beek, Bakous, El-Asafra, Sidi Beshr), and also we reached out side Alexandria (Kafr El-Dawar, Rashid, Suez, Cairo, Edfina, Portsaid)

Project history

In its first year in 2000 we manage to make 800 meals and they were all distributed in Alexandria, the meal coasted an average of 7L.E, This number increased rapidly through years till it reached 18000 meal in 2003, the year which witnessed the introduction of the Idea of charity bags (Keyas el Khier) for the first time to our project as we made 150 bag.

In 2006, we managed to reach a target of 17000 meals and 4400 bags, this year witnessed the participation of Unilever and Rashid Foundation in our event with a sum of 170,000 LE.

In 2009, we exceeded targets by achieving 24000 meals and 6400 bags.
