Leo Udtohan (born May 25, 1981) is a Filipino multimedia journalist, music producer, travel show producer, women, LGBTQIA+ and youth advocate. He is a stringer/correspondent of GMA News and Public Affairs and the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Biography[edit]
Udtohan was born in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines to Arino and Paulina Udtohan. He has three sisters, Rowena, Arlene and Ruth.
Education[edit]
Udtohan finished his elementary at Booy South Elementary School in 1993. At age 12, Udtohan was interviewed by the Cable News Network (CNN) when his school became a recipient of the Books for the Barrios Incorporated, a non-profit organization in California, United States of America.
He finished Bachelor in Secondary Educations majoring in History and Filipino with minors in English and Psychology at University of Bohol. He passed the licensure examination for teachers in 2001.

As a student, Udtohan had some articles published in the local newspapers in his hometown province and in the national broadsheets including the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin.
He was a correspondent of ABS-CBN's Magandang Gabi, Bayan (MGB) and other programs on ABS-CBN before moving to GMA 7 Manila as stringer in 2001. He is providing up-to-date news for the network's toprating news programs such as 24 Oras, Saksi, on QTV-11 Balitang Tanghali and News on Q and GMA Pinoy TV. He serves as coordinator and stringer of then Jessica Soho Reports and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho on GMA 7. In Bohol, he wrote a column, “True”, in the defunct Bohol Sunday Post. He moved to The Bohol Chronicle where wrote “Bared” and later on “Very Reliable Source" (VRS), a first-of-its-kind in the province of Bohol bringing society, entertainment and all sundry writing to a different level- way from the more common and sensationalized gossip-writing therefore adding a very distinct touch of class and competence to his trade.’
Udtohan, as a videojournalist, was best remembered for his exclusive stories on GMA 7 News. His biggest break as a stringer was during the Mabini Food Poisoning on March 8, 2005 and the Abu Sayaff infiltration in Bohol province in April 2017https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/888479/how-suspected-abus-penetrated-bohol. Through Udtohan, GMA 7 was the first network to break about the incidents.
On Loon outbreak in January 2007, Udtohan was quickly on the spot, and the event helped make his name. Other exclusive stories were Christ statue in Bohol church found bleeding and notable stories for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho like sea popper, koja, stingrays and sea urchins.
In 2006, he went to Warsaw, Poland to cover the [Miss World Pageant and The Academy Awards in 2013 held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles California. Udtohan tried another field in producing a travel show for On-Foot]] aired on Living Asia Channel hosted by travel icon Tim Tayag. He also produced the album "Sa Isip Lamang" by The Curls in April 2017.
During the typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyanhttps://edition.cnn.com/videos/bestoftv/2013/11/12/exp-irpt-udtohan-typhoon.cnn in Nov. 2017, Udtohan was interviewed by Cable News Network on the grim situation in Southern Leyte.
Volunteer Works[edit]
Udtohan was a youth volunteer in the Sangguniang Kabataan. He is also an advocate for the environment, LGBTQIA+, women and youth.

He is a Torah observant.
Recognition[edit]
In 2001, Udtohan received the “Model Citizen Award” from the City Government of Tagbilaran.
As a journalist, he was a finalist for “Best Investigative Report” in 38th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) in 2016.
He won “Breaking News of the Year” in Digital in Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA) in 2019.https://prworksph.com/11-win-visayas-gmea-2019/ He became finalist in Breaking News of the Year Digital for GMEA in 2020, 2nd place in “Photo of the Year” for Digital for GMEA in 2020.
