In the early 1970s, he was a disc jockey of offshore Radio North Sea International (RNI). This was the counterpart and rival of Radio Veronica. In 1976, Van der Goot released a single called "Daddy, what's a pop star?".
After the disappearance of the offshore stations in August 1974, Van der Goot went to work for VARA. In October 1974, his first program was heard on Hilversum 3 (now 3FM). In December 1975, he presented his last radio show for VARA.
In 1986, he provided the Dutch commentary for the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest.[1]
In 2010, Goot was injured in a plane crash near Fishersville, in USA.[2]
