Leon County Soil and Water Conservation District
The Leon County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), located in Leon County, FL is a Florida special district government entity dedicated to encouraging productive use of land, water and air resources in the county. According to a summary taken from Florida Statutes Ch. 582[1], the Board's powers include conducting surveys, investigations, research and demonstrational projects relating to soil and water conservation (in areas including irrigation, water quality, and soil erosion).

SWCD supervisors serve as a volunteer position and do not receive monetary compensation. For the most part, they conduct their activities on their own time. Supervisors are members of a five-person board for the district to which they are elected. If there is a vacancy, a supervisor can be appointed by the remaining supervisors until the next election for that seat.
The current district supervisors are:
- Seat 1 - Jessica Ferris (elected 2020)[2]
- Seat 2 - Cara Fleischer (elected 2018)[2]
- Seat 3 - Tabitha Frazier (elected 2020)[2]
- Seat 4 - Brian Lee (elected 2018)[2]
- Seat 5 - William Howell (elected 2016)[2]
