Miccosukee Volunteer Fire-Rescue is a not-for-profit volunteer fire department providing fire and rescue response to the residents and property owners of 165 square miles (430 km2) of Northeastern Leon County, Florida.[3] The department responds from three stations. Its equipment includes pumpers, tankers, brush trucks, a rescue boat and a 4WD utility vehicle.
Services are provided under a Volunteer Fire Services Agreement between the department and the Leon County County Commission.
History[edit]
The department was founded in 1998 with the merger of two earlier departments, the Miccosukee Land Co-op Volunteer Fire Department and the Miccosukee Volunteer Fire Department.
Stations[edit]
The department has three stations; one on Cromartie Road in the unincorporated community of Miccosukee Florida, one at the Miccosukee Land Co-op and one on Heatherwood Drive.[2]
