Leren Mae Magnaye Bautista, is a Filipino beauty pageant title holder and part-time model from Los Baños, Laguna who won the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 Asia Pacific International title at the Coronation night held on August 2, 2015 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila.

Leren competed in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 and was crowned as Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2015, giving her the right to represent the Philippines at the Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 pageant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fellow winners were Janela Joy Cuaton (Mutya ng Pilipinas - Tourism International), Nina Josie Robertson (Mutya ng Pilipinas - Overseas Communities), Julee Ann Marie Bourgoin (1st runner-up) and Brenna Cassandra Gamboa (2nd runner-up).[1][2][3][better source needed][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015[edit]

Miss Bautista will represent Philippines at the Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this 31 December 2015.[12][13]

Personal life[edit]

Bautista, a 22 year-old Los Baños, Laguna maiden carried the banner for the home squad as she bested 29 other aspirants for the top plum Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International during Sunday night’s coronation ceremonies at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. Leren has also won local titles prior to Mutya such as Miss Los Baños 2013 and Bb. Laguna 2014.

Leren is one of three children, the only girl and the youngest. She finished high school at Trace College and graduated at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba with a degree in marketing management. An Aquarian (Jan. 28, 1993), she stands 5’9”, weighs 128 lbs. and measures 36-26-36.5.[14]

She loves to read, travels a lot, and plays volleyball.

Bautista also won special awards such as Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, Mutya ng Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa, and Mutya ng Hana.[15]

“Being a beauty queen was not really my childhood dream,” confessed Leren. “But when I started joining pageants when I was in third year college, I realized that I loved the challenge. Na-enjoy ko na.”

She looks up to Misses Universe Philippines Venus Raj and Ara Arida (also from Laguna), and Miss World Megan Young as role models.

“Their pageant journey was so inspiring. They never stopped believing and I really admire them for that.”

How did you prepare for the Mutya pageant?

“I prepared my mind and body because I know that it would be very stressful and tiring mentally and physically. I underwent intensive training, from proper walking and proper posture, and how to answer during the Q&A. I believe that my hard work paid off.”

Bautista’s title came with a P150,000 prize money, while her co-winner Janela Joy Cuaton crown made her P120,000 richer. Each of them also took home a royal brooch from the pageant’s official jewelry provider Hoseki, unlimited flights for one year to any destination of their choice from SkyJet Airlines, a two-year management contract with Viva Communications, plus products and services from official makeup provider Inglot Philippines, Zanea Shoes, Hana Shampoo, Lee Cooper Jeans, Mags Clothing and Robinsons Malls.

Bautista received the title from last year’s winner Eva Psychee Patalinjug. She will represent the country in the Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International in Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 9. While Cuaton will compete in the Miss Tourism International pageant in Vietnam on Nov. 28 and try to continue the Philippines’ winning streak sustained by her predecessor Glennifer Perido.

Bautista was proclaimed Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, Mutya ng Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa and Mutya ng Hana, while Cuaton was hailed Best in Festival Costume, Miss Friendship, Darling of the Press, Mutya ng SkyJet Ailrines, Mutya ng Lito Sy Photography (Miss Photogenic), Mutya ng Inglot Philippines and Mutya ng Camera Club of the Philippines

During the final round of questions, Bautista said her home province Laguna is what best describes her. “I want to share the values I learned in my province, how to be responsible, being responsible for myself, being responsible to my family and being responsible that would benefit others as well,” she replied.[16]
