Levi Guerra (born 1997) served as a presidential elector from Washington for the 2016 presidential election. She did not vote as pledged, and as such is regarded as a faithless elector.

Biography[edit]

Guerra was born in Warden, Washington. She is one of nine children, and her family originates from Mexico.[1]

Guerra supported the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. She publicly stated she might not vote as pledged for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine.[2][3]

When the Electoral College voted on December 19, 2016, Guerra became one of four electors from Washington (along with Bret Chiafalo, Esther John, and Robert Satiacum Jr.), not to vote for Clinton. Instead, she voted for former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.[4]
