Levi Harmon is a New Zealand rugby union player who has competed at club and provincial levels. He has played for the Wellington Lions, represented New Zealand in sevens rugby, and later joined Otago. Harmon is also known for his performances with Green Island in Dunedin, where he helped secure the club’s first senior title in more than four decades, and for his representation of Wairarapa-Bush in the Heartland Championship.

Early life

Levi Harmon was born and raised in Masterton, Wairarapa. He played his junior rugby for Masterton Redstar and Pioneer. Harmon attended school in Palmerston North before completing his final year at Wairarapa College.

Playing career

Poneke and Wellington (2017–2018)

Harmon played for Poneke Rugby Club in Wellington, making 50 appearances between 2016 and 2019 and scoring 18 tries. At the age of 19, he made his debut for the Wellington Lions against Tasman in the Mitre 10 Cup (now known as the Bunnings NPC). During this period, Harmon also represented Wellington in sevens rugby before going on to represent New Zealand in sevens rugby.

Green Island and Otago (2024–2025)

Harmon later joined Green Island Rugby Club in Dunedin. In the 2021 Dunedin club final, he suffered a severe injury, breaking his tibia and fibula just minutes into the match. After a lengthy recovery, he returned to play a key role in Green Island’s 2024 championship campaign. In the final, Harmon scored two tries, including the match-winner, as the club claimed its first senior title since 1978.

Harmon also joined Otago at the provincial level, representing them during the 2024–2025 Mitre 10 Cup seasons.

Wairarapa-Bush

In 2025, Harmon was named in the Wairarapa-Bush squad for the Heartland Championship as a loan player from Manawatu, becoming player number 718 for the union.
