Levi Peretic (born January 12, 1991) is an American film director, producer, editor and podcast host . He is best known for the 2013 documentary Adjust Your Tracking: The Untold Story of the VHS Collector.

Early life and education[edit]

Peretic was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania. In 2005, during junior high, he produced his first short film, The Pennsylvania Lawnmower Massacre. [1] He graduated from Sharpsville Area School District in 2009, and went on to study film and video production at PennWest Edinboro. While there he met fellow student Dan M. Kinem. During his junior year they began production on Adjust Your Tracking. Tracking was completed April 2013. Peretic was awarded with the David Weinkauf film scholarship and graduated with a BFA in May 2013.

Career[edit]

Adjust Your Tracking was well received by critics and audiences. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 100% based on five reviews, with an average rating of 6.25/10. [2]

In 2019, Peretic launched a podcast, Padawan Library with Edinboro alumni, Tim May.[3] The show explores fiction produced for young readers under the Star Wars label. In July 2021, they crossed one hundred episodes.[4]

In 2022 Peretic co-founded production house, MirrorMax, with producers Mel Lyon and Phil M. Majors.[5] They began producing short-form documentaries for Vinegar Syndrome partner label, VHShitfest. On August 28, 2022 MirrorMax announced a feature-film entitled Grandma’s Apartment. Directed by Peretic, it is slated for a 2023 release.[6]

In 2018 Peretic married longtime partner and producer, Mel Lyon.
