Lewis Vaughan Jones is a British journalist and presenter currently working for the BBC.

Personal life[edit]

Vaughan Jones was brought up in Penarth and attended Stanwell Comprehensive School. He went on to study Politics, Philosophy & Economics at Keble College, Oxford.

He married fellow journalist Hannah Vaughan Jones in 2015, the couple have one son.[1]

In 2018, Vaughan Jones permenantly lost the hearing in his left ear after a viral infection[2].

Broadcasting career[edit]

Vaughan Jones began his career with ITN. He spent over two years working for ITV Wales before moving to London. At ITN, he served as the ITV News Acting Health Correspondent and ITV News Political Corresponded. While covering the ITV News' Washington Bureau, Vaughan Jones reported on Barack Obama's Presidency and the Sandy Hook School Shootings.

In 2017, Vaughan Jones joined BBC News as a newsreader before becoming the Chief Presenter of BBC Global News. He has proved his versatility, reporting on topics ranging from Diego the father of 800 tortoises, to the nutrition of lettuce grown entirely in space.
