Libby Folfax is a fictional character in the American computer animated television series The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius created by Steve Oedekerk and John A. Davis. In the series, she is depicted as Cindy’s friend and Sheen’s love interest. Initially on the advertising shorts that preceded the motion picture, she seemed to be more of a sidekick to Cindy than a friend.
The character in all appearances beginning from the aforementioned shorts was voiced by Crystal Scales in one of her only four Nickelodeon roles, the other three being Daisy the Sunflower from Oswald, Buster Carmichael in the Kwanzaa special of Rugrats, and Lonnie from As Told by Ginger.
Character[edit]
Personality[edit]
A fashionista with high intelligence, Libby is more down-to-earth compared to the rest of her friends taking on a role of being a voice of reason. In the shorts preceding the film, she took hold of a sidekick towards her friend Cindy. An honest somebody, Libby cannot tell any fabrications which she sometimes revolves around Jimmy’s schemes. Also, she serves as an elder sister to him and tries to befriend instead of being in a state of timidity. Although she is a primary character, her parents have less screen time as displayed in five episodes.[2]
Appearance[edit]
A young girl of African-American origin, Libby has black hair tied either in a bun or let loose in dreadlocks and dark brown eyes. During her initial appearances, she wore an aqua green dress with alternating yellow/orange squares, green socks and black loafers. Later as the series progresses, she switches the dress to a fading shirt in numerous shades of pink, royal blue jeans, and white trainers.
Portrayal[edit]
Libby was played by voice actress Crystal Scales, in one of her only four Nickelodeon roles to date. Additionally, Scales also provides the voice of Ms. Folfax in a season one episode Journey to the Center of Carl.[3]
