Liberland Amateur Radio Association (LARA) is a non-profit organization. Its mission is to connect and represent all Liberlandian amateur radio operators and radio enthusiasts.[2][3][4] Its role is also issuing Liberland amateur radio licences (callsign 1L).[5]
Objectives[edit]
The association's primary purposes include:
- Technical education
- Friendship building
- Participation in emergency & rescue operations
- Organizing radio contests
- Seeking international acceptance among other amateur radio and humanitarian organizations
Liberland faces challenges due to its complete lack of recognition and non-membership in the International Telecommunication Union. Despite this, members are encouraged to comply with international and local regulations governing radio communications. Prospective LARA members must hold a valid amateur radio operator licence in any ITU member country, ensuring adequate technical proficiency for radio station operation.
Licensing and operations[edit]
Liberland Amateur Radio licences are tied to existing amateur radio licences[6] held by operators, granting them 1L callsigns. Notably, these licences remain valid only when accompanied by the respective reference licences.
LARA offers a callbook facilitating queries for 1L callsigns, providing operator reference callsigns.
Location[edit]
The entirety of Liberland is located on QTH locator JN95KS.[7][8]
