Linda Ravenswood[1] is an Oxford Poetry[2] Prize winning poet from Los Angeles. She won The Edwin Markham[3] Prize in Poetry in 2022, from Poet Laureate of The US Juan Felipe Herrera[4] for Reed Magazine[5], the oldest literary review in California. Her books include Cantadora[6] (Eyewear London / The Blackspring Press Group, 2023), The Stan Poems[7] (Pedestrian Press, 2022), XLA Poets[8] (Hinchas Press, 2021), Tlacuilx[9] (Hinchas de Poesia, 2020), and the upcoming -- a poem is a house -- which won The Arthur Smith Prize[10] in 2023 (Madville Press).
She founded The Los Angeles Press[11] in 2018. She is the founder of The Poet Laureate Programme[12] in Glendale, California.
She introduces the radio show Poets Cafe on Wednesdays on KPFK[13] FM 90.7.
In September 2023, LA Weekly[14] named Linda's book Cantadora -- Letters from California (Blackspring Press Group, 2023) as one of the 10 Best Books to read this season.
