Pageant history[edit]
After winning prior smaller pageants including Miss TAD, Miss Cumberland County, Miss East Tennessee, and Miss Food City,[3][4] Tollett won the Miss Tennessee USA 2001 title in her first attempt. The competition was held at Austin Peay State University at Clarksville, Tennessee in October 2000, and she was crowned by Lynnette Cole, Miss USA 2000, who had previously been Miss Tennessee USA 2000.[5][6] Tollett's first runner-up was Candice Sanders, who would later become Miss California USA 2003.
Tollett represented Tennessee in the Miss USA 2001 pageant, held in Gary, Indiana in March 2002. She made the first cut in the nationally televised pageant, and placed fourth in swimsuit (9.21) eighth in evening gown (9.04), leaving her one spot shy of the top five, with an average combine score of 9.12. She missed moving on to the Top 5 at Miss USA by .01.[citation needed]
Personal[edit]
Tollett is the dauther of Michael and Mary Sue Tollett. She has a twin sister Lori (former girlfriend of Dale Earnhardt Jr.), and is a 1999 graduate of the University of Tennessee.[1][5] Tollett was a cheerleader while at Tennessee,[7] and later for the Carolina Panthers around 2004, when she worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative.[8] Country music singer and stage actress Mandy Barnett is Tollett's cousin.[3]
Four years after they met at the Bristol Motor Speedway, Tollett became engaged to NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler, while serving as Miss Tennessee USA.[9] The couple split a few years later. Tollett later married John Milligan, a doctor from Tenneessee.[10]
