Sixteen new Housemates entered the Big Brother House during Launch Night on the 2014 series of Big Brother Australia.

Aisha[edit]

Aisha McKinnon is a 22-year-old, originally from New Zealand but now lives in Sydney, Australia.[1] She works as a door girl at Hugo's in Kings Cross on the weekend in evenings and as a casual salesperson at Nike Bondi Junction during the day. Upon her entry on Day 2, she found out housemates would be playing the game in pairs. She was paired with Lawson before they entered the house together. Aisha was nominated on Day 24 after Sam gave her 5 points with his superpower. She survived the eviction on Day 29; however, she was still up for eviction. She survived the eviction the next day after receiving 27% of the votes to save, second only to David who got 30%. Whilst in the house, Aisha formed a relationship with Travis. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. She survived the eviction on Day 57; however, her ex-partner Lawson became the next evictee. She became the eleventh housemate to be evicted on Day 58 after receiving the fewest votes to save her.

Cat[edit]

Kate "Cat" Law, a 31-year-old from Melbourne who holds two university degrees, works as a midwife.[1] She entered the house on Day 2 where she was paired with Sam after it was announced that all housemates would be competing in pairs this year. On Day 9, Dion and Jason decided to swap the pairs Sam and Cat and Travis and Ryan, which now made Sam and Ryan and Travis and Cat new pairs. They were nominated on Day 10 and faced the public vote. On Day 16, Travis and Cat survived the eviction receiving 39% of the vote. Cat was nominated again on the same night and faced the public vote. She was saved on Day 22 in a snap eviction after receiving 30% of the vote. She didn't have to face the public vote in the next day's eviction as she had more votes to save than any other housemate up for eviction. She was again nominated on Day 24, along with 6 other housemates. Cat survived the eviction on Day 29; however, she was still up for eviction. The next day, Sonia told David, Travis, and Aisha that they were all safe, leaving just Cat and Lisa in the firing line. It was revealed that Lisa was evicted and Cat survived again. When revealing the tally board, Cat scored 15% of the vote. She was nominated on Day 46 and faced eviction. She again survived on Day 51 after receiving 13% of the vote. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. She survived the eviction on Day 57; however, she watched on as Lawson became the next evictee. She became the twelfth housemate to be evicted on Day 58 in a double eviction, along with Aisha, when she also received the fewest votes to save.

David[edit]

David Hodis, a 31-year-old radiographer[2] originally from the United Kingdom but now living in Sydney, entered the house on Day 0. During the live launch night twist, it was announced that the housemates would be competing in pairs. David chose Sandra to be his partner before they entered together. They were nominated on Day 10 and faced the public vote. On Day 16, David and Sandra survived the eviction receiving 36% of the vote. He was nominated on Day 24 along with 6 other housemates. He survived Day 29's eviction however he was still up for eviction. He survived the next eviction the following day after receiving 30% of the vote to save while his rival Lisa was evicted. He nominated again on Day 38 and faced eviction. He survived the eviction on Day 44 while Sandra was evicted however he was still up for eviction. He survived the eviction the following day after scoring 18.4% of the vote. He was nominated again the next day and survived the eviction on Day 51 after earning 14% of the vote. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. He was saved on Day 57 after Sonia revealed that he was in the top 4 with the most votes to save along with Priya, Ryan, and Skye. He was nominated on Day 67 along with Leo, Priya, Ryan and Skye. He escaped the eviction again on Day 71 however he watched as Leo became the next evictee. The following day, Sonia saved Ryan and Skye leaving just himself and Priya in the firing line. He then became the sixteenth housemate to be evicted after receiving the next lowest number of votes to save.

Dion[edit]

Dion Kallis, a 24-year-old[3] hair product salesman from Brisbane entered the house on Day 0. It was first seen that Dion was a housemate in the on air promo's in which he was announced as the "Gym Junkie". It was announced during the launch night twist that housemates would be competing as pairs. Dion then chose Jason to become his partner before they entered the house together. Later that night, Dion and Jason were both chosen by Head Housemates Katie and Priya to be banished to the fish bowl in the garden where they were isolated for the night. Dion was nominated in week three and faced the public vote. He became the second housemate to be evicted in a surprise eviction on Day 22. He received 16% of the vote.

Gemma[edit]

Gemma Kinghorn, is a 29-year-old nurse from Perth. She suffers from Marfan's syndrome which makes her very tall[4]. It was first seen that Gemma would be a housemate in the on air promos, in which she was announced as "The Fiery Redhead". Gemma entered the house on Day 0 partnered with Jake after it was revealed that the housemates would be competing in pairs.

On Day 16, Jake and Gemma received 25% of the public vote which means the housemates would choose which one of them was to be evicted. The housemates chose Jake to stay which made Gemma Kinghorn the first house mate to be evicted.

Jake[edit]

Jake Richardson is a 25-year-old student originally from Brisbane but now lives in Sydney. Upon his entry, he was told that all housemates would be competing in pairs, so he chose Gemma to be his partner. They then entered the house together on Day 0. On Day 16, Jake and Gemma received the lowest number of votes to save which means the housemates would choose which one of them would be evicted. The housemates chose Gemma which saved Jake. He was later nominated along with six other housemates for eviction on Day 24. Jake became the fourth housemate to be evicted on Day 29 after receiving just 7% of the vote to save one out of the 7 nominees.

It was revealed that he is a friend and real life housemate of Big Brother 2013 winner Tim[5]. They lived together in Bondi and worked together on Sydney's Nova Radio's promotion team.[6]

Jason[edit]

Jason Roses is a 26-year-old real estate agent from Canberra.[7] On Day 0, he was chosen by Dion to be his partner after it was revealed that the housemates would be entering and playing the game in pairs. Jason was nominated on Day 31 and faced a fake double eviction. He survived the eviction on Day 37 after receiving 18% of the vote. He was nominated the next day and faced eviction. He survived the eviction on Day 44 however he was still up for eviction. Jason became the eighth housemate to be evicted on Day 45 after receiving 16.9% of the vote.

Katie[edit]

Katie Schepis, a 25-year-old nanny[8] from Sutherland Shire, entered the house on Day 0. It was first revealed that she would be a housemate in the on air promo's which she was announced as the "Katie Cupcake". After it was announced that the housemates would be entering and competing in pairs, Katie was chosen to be Priya's partner. It was also announced that they were the first Head Housemates and would be responsible for making important decisions in the house, known as Power Plays. Shortly after entering they were given their first Power Play to banish one pair of housemates to the fish bowl in the garden so they can be isolated for the night. They chose Dion and Jason. Their next Power Play came just hours later when they were offered money from the prize fund, however if they accepted the housemates would go without food for a week. After 24 hours of contemplating whether to take the money; she and Priya decided to take the full $10,000 each and cause the house to live on meal-replacement shakes for a whole week. Katie was nominated on Day 16 and faced the public vote. She survived the snap eviction on Day 22 however she became the third housemate to be evicted the following day after receiving 24% of the vote.

Lawson[edit]

Lawson Reeves[9] is a 23-year-old from Perth. He is an electrical apprentice but is also a magician. It was first revealed that he would be a housemate in the on air promo's which he was announced as the "Magic Man/Mandurah Magician".He was the final housemate to enter the house on Day 2 after being selected to become Aisha's partner when it was revealed that the housemates would be competing in pairs this year. Lawson was nominated on Day 31 and faced a fake double eviction. He survived the eviction on Day 37 after receiving 13% of the vote while Sam was evicted. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. On Day 57, Lawson became the tenth housemate to be evicted after receiving the fewest votes to save out of the 9 nominees.

Leo[edit]

Ryan "Leo" Burke is a 30-year-old from Canada who lives on the Gold Coast.[10] He is a model and a fitness trainer. He entered the house on Day 24 as an intruder. He was nominated on Day 46 and faced his first eviction. He escaped eviction on Day 51 after receiving 12% of the vote while Marina was evicted. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. He survived the eviction on Day 57 and Day 58 while Lawson, Aisha and Cat were evicted. He was nominated again the next day however he survived the Day 65 and 66 eviction while Tom and Richard were evicted. He was nominated again on Day 67 along with David, Priya, Ryan, and Skye. He became the fifteenth housemate to be evicted on Day 71 after earning the fewest votes.

Lina[edit]

Lina Grant is a 25-year-old from China who lives in Melbourne. She worked as a production manager at Quay Eyeware Australia but resigned due to entering the House. She entered the House on Day 50 as an intruder. She survived the next two weeks of nominations. She became the seventeenth housemate to be evicted on Day 79, placing 6th overall. She was the only housemate to never be put for eviction this year.

Lisa[edit]

Lisa Clark is a 29-year-old executive assistant and Strip Club Manager from Penrith.[11] She entered the house on Day 0 after being chosen by Skye to be her partner when it was announced they will play the game in a pair. They were nominated on Day 10; however, they were saved on Day 15 as they had the most votes to save. She was nominated for eviction on Day 24 and faced the public vote along with six other housemates. She was saved on Day 29 however she watched as Jake became the next housemate to be evicted. She was still up for eviction. Lisa became the fifth housemate to be evicted on Day 30 after receiving just 12% of the vote to save leaving just a day after Jake.

Marina[edit]

Marina Rakovskaia is a 30-year-old intensive care nurse[12] originally from Ukraine and now living in Adelaide. She entered the house as an intruder. She was nominated on Day 46 and faced her first eviction. She became the ninth housemate to be evicted on Day 51 after receiving just 3% of the vote to save.

Penny[edit]

Penny Higgs is a 30-year-old professional dancer from Victoria. She is best known for being on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance Australia and making it to the top eight before having to leave due to an injury. She Entered the House on Day 50 as an intruder.

Penny has also had various acting roles with various TVC's, Film Clips, Neighbours and recently landed a feature role with a main character in a big budget film "I Frankenstein", released 2013, directed by Stuart Beattie. Penny is hard working, extremely dedicated to creating art, adores working with people and loves sharing her passion for dance. Penny was nominated on Day 59. She was the only new intruder to survive the Day 65 and 66 evictions while Tom and Richard were evicted. She survived nominations on Day 67 which meant she had made it to the final week along with Lina and Travis. She became the eighteenth housemate to be evicted after Lina on Day 79, placing fifth overall.

Priya[edit]

Priya Malik is a 28-year-old Secondary School Teacher from Adelaide[13] who entered the house on Day 0. It was first revealed that she would be a housemate in the on air promo's which she was announced as the "Posh Spice". After it was announced that the housemates would be entering and competing in pairs, Priya chose Katie to be her partner. It was also announced that they were the first Head Housemates and would be responsible for making important decisions in the house, known as Power Plays. Shortly after entering, they were given their first Power Play to banish one pair of housemates to the fish bowl in the garden so they can be isolated for the night. They chose Dion and Jason. Their next Power Play came just hours later when they were offered money from the prize fund. However, if they accepted, the housemates would go without food for a week. After 24 hours of contemplating whether to take the money, she and Katie decided to take the full $10,000 each and cause the house to live on meal-replacement shakes for a whole week.

Priya was nominated on Day 16 and faced eviction. She survived the snap eviction on Day 22; however, she still remained up for eviction. She survived the scheduled eviction on the following day after receiving 40% of the vote to save however she watched on as her ex-partner Katie became the next evictee. She was again nominated again on Day 31 and faced a fake double eviction. She survived the eviction on Day 37 after earning 16% of the vote. She was nominated again the following day and faced eviction again. She survived the eviction on Day 44 however she was still in the firing line along with David and Jason. She survived the eviction the next day after scoring 17.6% of the vote while her ally Jason left in a shock eviction. She was nominated again the next day despite having the nominations super power. She survived the eviction on Day 51 after receiving just 10% of the vote. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. She was saved on Day 57 after Sonia revealed that she was in the top 4 with the most votes to save along with David, Ryan and Skye. She was nominated on Day 67 along with David, Leo, Ryan, and Skye. She escaped the eviction again on Day 71 however she watched as Leo became the next evictee. The following day, Sonia saved Ryan and Skye leaving just David and Priya in the firing line. Sonia then evicted David which meant that Priya would be in the final week.

She became the nineteenth housemate to be evicted after Lina and Penny on Day 79, placing 4th overall. She was well renowned for her manipulative tactics and for “stirring the pot.”

On 23 November 2015, Priya entered the ninth season of Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother[14], on day 43. She survived a few evictions, including when she was nominated on day 71 and saw Gizele become the next evictee. On 16 January 2016, she was evicted and finished 6th overall, leaving Rochelle, Keith, Prince, Rishabh, and Mandana as the top 5 finalists.

Post Bigg Boss she was seen in two popular shows Savitri Devi College & Hospital and Nazar.

Richard[edit]

Richard Hordern-Gibbings is a 25-year-old bank teller,[15] originally from Adelaide but now lives in Sydney. He entered the House on Day 50 as an intruder. He was nominated on Day 59 and faced eviction. He survived on Day 65 while his fellow intruder Tom was evicted. He became the fourteenth housemate to be evicted on Day 66.

Ryan[edit]

Ryan Ginns is a 26-year-old graphic designer, initially from Sunshine Coast but now lives in Sydney.[16] He was pre-selected to enter the house with Travis on Day 0 after the announcement that all housemates would be playing the game in pairs. On Day 9, Dion and Jason decided to swap the pairs of Sam and Cat and Travis and Ryan, which resulted in Sam and Ryan and Travis and Cat as new pairs. Ryan became the last original housemate to be put up for nomination on Day 38. He survived the eviction on Day 44 after receiving 38% of the vote. Because he had more votes than the other nominees, he was safe for another week. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. He was saved on Day 57 after Sonia revealed that he was in the top 4 with the most votes to save, along with David, Priya, and Skye. He was nominated again on Day 59. He later survived the Day 65 and Day 66 evictions. He was nominated on Day 67, along with David, Leo, Priya, and Skye. He escaped the eviction again on Day 71; however, he watched as Leo became the next evictee. He survived again the following day while his ally David was evicted. He survived the triple eviction on Day 79 which determined the final three housemates, earning himself a place in the Grand Finale. On Day 80, Ryan was declared the winner of Big Brother 2014 after receiving 36% of the vote to win.

Sam[edit]

Sam Julian Bramham, OAM[17] is a 26-year-old Paralympic swimmer from Melbourne. He competed at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Paralympics for Australia. Between those two Games, he won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal. He entered the house on Day 2 partnered with Cat following the reveal that all housemates would be playing in pairs. On Day 9, Dion and Jason decided to swap the pairs of Sam and Cat and Travis and Ryan, which made Sam and Ryan and Travis and Cat new pairs. Sam was nominated on Day 31 after earning six nomination points. He became the sixth housemate to be evicted in a fake double eviction on Day 37 after receiving 7% of the vote.

Sandra[edit]

Sandra Nixon[18] is a 30-year-old from Wagga Wagga who works as a retail manager. On Day 0 she entered the house with David after he selected her to be his partner when he was told all housemates would be competing the game in pairs this year. They were nominated on Day 10 and faced the public vote. On Day 16, David and Sandra survived the eviction receiving 36% of the vote. Sandra was nominated on Day 31 and faced a fake double eviction. She survived the eviction after receiving just 9% of the vote to save. She watched as her ally Sam was evicted. Sandra was nominated the next day and faced eviction. On Day 44, Sandra became the seventh housemate to be evicted after again scoring 9% of the vote. She was evicted only a week after Sam.

Skye[edit]

Skye Wheatley[19] is a 20-year-old Barista from the Gold Coast. She entered the house on Day 0 choosing Lisa to be her partner after she was told that she would be playing the game in a pair. They were nominated on Day 10 however they were saved on Day 15 as they had the most votes to save. Skye was nominated again on Day 24 along with six other housemates. She again received the most votes to save out of the seven nominees thus saving her. She managed to get 27% of the vote. Skye was nominated again and faced eviction on Day 46. She survived eviction on Day 51 after earning 27% of the vote, She received more votes than other nominees. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. She was saved on Day 57 after Sonia revealed that she was in the top 4 with the most votes to save along with David, Priya and Ryan. She was nominated again on Day 59, she later survived the Day 65 and Day 66 evictions. She was nominated on Day 67 along with David, Leo, Priya and Ryan. She escaped the eviction again on Day 71 however she watched as Leo became the next evictee. She survived again the following day while David was evicted. She survived the triple eviction on Day 79 which determined the final three housemates, earning herself a place in the Big Brother Australia 2014 Grand Finale. On Day 80, Skye was crowned the second runner up for Big Brother 2014 after receiving 31% of the votes to win, placing third in the season after Travis.

Tom[edit]

Tom Mackay is a 26-year-old marketing manager from Sydney[20] who also volunteers at the Sydney Children's Hospital. He Entered the House as an intruder on Day 50. He was nominated on Day 59 and faced eviction. He became the thirteenth housemate to be evicted on Day 65 after receiving the fewest votes to save.

Travis[edit]

Travis Lunardi is a 24-year-old[21] importer from Melbourne. After the reveal that all housemates would be playing in pairs this year, Travis was selected to be Ryan's partner before they entered the house together on Day 0. On Day 9, Dion and Jason decided to swap pairs Sam and Cat and Travis and Ryan, which made Sam and Ryan and Travis and Cat new pairs. They were nominated on Day 10 and faced the public vote. On Day 16, Travis and Cat survived the eviction receiving 39% of the vote. Travis was nominated again the same night and faced the public vote. He survived the snap eviction on Day 22 however he was still up for eviction. Travis survived the actual eviction the following day as Katie was evicted. He received 36% of the vote to save. He was again nominated again the following day along with six other housemates. He survived the eviction on Day 29 however he was still up for eviction. He survived again the following day after scoring 16% of the vote to save. He was nominated yet again the following day and faced a fake double eviction. Travis was "fake" evicted on Day 37 after earning the most votes to save. He left the sanctuary after meeting with former Big Brother contestant Benjamin Zabel. He scored a whopping 37% of the vote. Travis returned to the house and was nominated again on Day 46 and faced eviction. He survived again on Day 51 after receiving 21% of the vote second only to Skye. On Day 51, all the original housemates were automatically nominated and faced eviction. He survived the eviction on Day 57 and Day 58 while Lawson, Aisha, and Cat were evicted. He survived the triple eviction on Day 79 which determined the final three housemates, earning himself a place in the Big Brother Australia 2014 Grand Finale. On Day 80, Travis was crowned the runner-up of Big Brother and became Evictee Number 21 after beating Third Place, Skye with 33% of the votes to win, placing him in Second Place.
