Darksiders is a hack and slash action-adventure video game franchise created by Vigil Games, now developed by Gunfire Games, and currently distributed by THQ Nordic GmbH. The series is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where mankind has become extinct and angels and demons battle for the world's control. Among them are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the last of the Nephilim who are tasked to bring balance to order.

The following is a list of characters who have appeared.

Protagonists

War

Voiced by Liam O'Brien.

War is the main character of Darksiders and the youngest of the Four Horsemen. He was falsely summoned by various conspirators so the Charred Council could blame him for allegedly dooming the Kingdom of Man. After confronting The Destroyer, he decided to reunite his siblings in order to confront the Council and the First and Second Kingdom.[1]

Death

Voiced by Michael Wincott (Darksiders II) and Jason Spisak (Darksiders III).

Death is the main character of Darksiders II, the oldest of the Riders and the de facto leader, who decides to restore humanity to prove War's innocence.[2]

Fury

Voiced by Cissy Jones.

Fury is the main character of Darksiders III who was initially obsessed to lead the Horsemen herself. But, at the end, she has a change of heart after confronting all of the Seven Deadly Sins, accepting the truth about War's false sentence.[3]

Strife

Voiced by Phil LaMarr.

Strife is a recurring character in Darksiders III, under the disguise of a human wanderer named "Jones", who leads Fury to accept the truth behind the Charred Council's lies that lead to War's false sentence.[3]

Abaddon / The Destroyer

Voiced by Troy Baker (Darksiders) and Jason Spisak (Darksiders II).

Abaddon is the archangel who decided to break six of the seals in order to attack Hell prematurely.[1]

Uriel

Voiced by Moon Bloodgood (Darksiders) and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Darksiders II).

Uriel is a fellow angel of the Hellguard, who initially thinks War killed Abaddon, only to realize he was the Destroyer all along.[1]

Charred Council

Voiced by Darin De Paul, Fred Tatasciore and JB Blanc.

The Charred Council is a three-headed hierarchy that imposes the Balance in the universe, but after Abaddon breaks most of the seals to bring the Apocalypse, the Council decides to summon War and frame him for dooming Earth.[1]

The Watcher

Voiced by Mark Hamill.

The Watcher is an agent of the Charred Council who submits War to find the Destroyer.[1]

Vulgrim

Voiced by Phil LaMarr.

Vulgrim is a specter that negotiates with the Horsemen for souls in exchange for information.[1][2][3]

Ulthane Blackhammer

Voiced by JB Blanc.

Ulthane Blackhammer is a Maker and brother of Thane, who supports the Horsemen in protecting humanity.[1][2][3]

Samael

Voiced by Vernon Wells.

Samael, also known as the Blood Prince and the Red Wanderer, is a demon lord of immense power who crosses paths with War and Death. The demon lord helping both War and Death on their journeys for his own mysterious reasons.[1][2]

Lilith

Voiced by Jessica Straus.

Lilith is a recurring antagonist in the Darksiders series. She is the one who created the Nephilim and is working with Lucifer to bring the Apocalypse.[2][3]

Azrael / Angel of Death

Voiced by Keith Szarabajka.

Azrael is a former follower of Abaddon, who conspired with him to bring the Apocalypse.

Crowfather

Voiced by Keith Szarabajka.

The Crowfather, also known as The Keeper of Secrets is an Old One and the guardian of the Nephilim's souls who coerces Death to free him from his imprisonment and is also his guide in DSII.[2]

Absalom / Avatar of Chaos

Voiced by Simon Templeman.

Absalom is the first Nephilim who became corrupted.[2]

Lucifer

Voiced by Keith Ferguson (Darksiders II) and Darin De Paul (Darksiders III).

Lucifer, also known as the Dark Prince, is one of the main antagonists of the Darksiders series. He is the direct ruler of Hell and one of the main powers behind the events that lead to the Apocalypse.[2][3]

Seven Deadly Sins

Voiced by Abby Craden (Pride), Darin De Paul (Sloth), Fred Tatasciore (Gluttony, Wrath), Fryda Wolff (Envy #1), Jason Spisak (Lust), JB Blanc (Avarice) and Misty Lee (Envy #2).

The Seven Deadly Sins are the main antagonists of Darksiders III. They were released from their prison by the Charred Council to deceive Fury.[3]
