This is an incomplete list of FM (Frequency Modulation) radio broadcast transmitters in the United Kingdom and Ireland. You can help by adding missing stations to the list.
FM radio first started around the early 1930s. In 1970 FM radio gradually started getting more popular with music stations. The late 1980s saw BBC Radio 1 start to broadcast full time on FM[1][2] The first half of the 1990s saw Radio 2 and Radio 3 begin broadcasting exclusively on FM with Radio 1 becoming FM-only in 1994.[3][4] 1992 also saw the launch of the UK's first (and only) national commercial station on FM when Classic FM began broadcasting.[5]
