Nostalgia Critic began the 2011 year with "Sequel Month", in which the Critic reviews sequels to films he already covered that have almost exclusively negative responses from film critics, film buffs and himself. The 162nd episode is the first to be produced in HD, which would become the basis for later episodes.

The Critic reviews The NeverEnding Story III: Return to Fantasia (1994) to begin Sequel Month. The Critic finds it even worse than its predecessor, citing its dumbed-down plot, over-the-top character portrayals, particularly the Rock Biter and Falkor, numerous continuity errors and the incompetence of its main character, Bastian. He also hates how the antagonists of this story are reduced to schoolyard bullies, although he does give Jack Black, who plays the gang leader, credit for looking like the only actor "who's having fun" performing in this film in spite of its poor script. Special criticism is reserved for Rock Biter singing "Born to Be Wild", particularly as it replaces the regular credits song, causing the Critic to graphically destroy the movie's DVD with a crowbar upon learning the latter fact. The film is placed at #7 on Doug's "Top 11 Best Nostalgia Critic Reviews". Real Thoughts: Both Doug and Rob consider this film to be The Room of family films and would watch this more than the second NeverEnding Story film because they were amazed by how bizarrely bad this movie was. The Critic reviews The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue (1998). As an avid fan of the original animated film he is angered by the fact that the follow-up film centers on a background character while virtually ignoring Mrs. Brisby, the main character from the previous film. He also finds the animation down-graded, and is particularly critical of the main character, Timmy, getting relentlessly touted and praised when there is nothing remarkable about him, and Nicodemus's self-fulfilling prophecy. Special criticism is reserved for the idiotic plot twist where Timmy's brother Martin turns out to be the villain in the climax, while at the same time complimenting Eric Idle's voicework as the corrupt Martin as "the only thing remotely entertaining" about the film. He makes fun of the film for its cartoonish plot, confusing ending, constant rising shots, lackluster CGI, Bruce Payne's dialogue and his character's unexplained blue lipstick, Marlon Wayans' character being annoying, blantant rip-offs of scenes from Indiana Jones, and poor acting (particularly the over the top performance of Jeremy Irons and the under-acting of Thora Birch). He criticizes its lack of faithfulness to the cartoon, the casting and acting (particularly of Matthew Broderick as Gadget & Rupert Everett as Dr. Claw), excessive ineffective comedy - including many fourth wall jokes - that the Critic labels "desperate attempts for laughs", and editing. The only positive element he notes is the movie's version of the show's theme song. Special criticism is reserved for the fact that Dr. Claw is seen throughout the movie while he wasn't seen in the show, as well as film's overuse of sound effects. Special criticism is reserved for the special effects, particularly the animatronic costumes, which he finds nightmarish, and the premise that babies are born with super intelligence but lose it as they grow older, which the Critic finds completely stupid. He is also disgusted that Bob Clark was the director, given that he also directed A Christmas Story, which the Critic considered earlier to be the greatest Christmas film. Though he considers the animation to be superior, he considers the film worse than the previously reviewed 2000 animated Titanic film, calling it "disgustingly insulting" for turning the shipwreck into a parable about whaling and establishing that everyone onboard the ship survived the sinking. Special criticism is reserved for the numerous random and odd characters and plot elements in the film, such as talking dolphins and an "octopus with a dog face" throwing the iceberg that destroys the Titanic. At the end, he finds out that there is a spin-off film, Tentacolino, and shouts "No!" in the style of Darth Vader from Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. While praising the creativity, sets and animation, and giving it credit for at least trying to adapt the original novel to where he can see why people liked it, he criticizes the musical numbers by Randy Newman (who the Critic is not a fan of), plot holes, and story elements that go nowhere. Special criticism is reserved for the anti-climactic ending which involves the protagonist defeating the antagonistic ghost of Hugh Crane with the power of love and family, which results in the Critic momentarily losing his mind and going off on a blind rant against director Jan de Bont, portraying him as an attention-starved adult child throwing a temper tantrum who mocks the creative style of Robert Wise, the director of the original classic, all the while desperately begging people to love his own work. As Doug had ranked the film as the #1 movie he hates that seemingly everyone else loves, the others try to convince the Critic that Moulin Rouge! lives up to its reception, but he absolutely hates it, criticizing the lack of original music, fast-paced editing, fairytale romance, musical numbers, acting, plot holes, repetitive themes, and writing (although he does seem to let up at the "El Tango de Roxanne" sequence, admitting he admires the choreography, sets and design). As the review progresses, brentalfloss and the Chick cave in and reveal their own frustrations about the film (brentalfloss reveals that he hates how certain elements that make no sense are brushed over by the theme of love while the Chick reveals that she hates Christian's actions near the end of the film), but by the end, they admit that they think of it as a guilty pleasure, to which the Critic understands where they are coming from. He called it his favorite review out of the "Top 11 Nostalgia Critic Episodes", and put the film at #9 on his "Worst Movies Nostalgia Critic's Reviewed" list.
