Since Liverpool's formation in 1892, fourteen South African-born footballers have represented the club. Goalkeeper Arthur Riley was the first to do so in 1925 while Chilean international Mark González was the most recent. Five of the fourteen players went on to represent a country other than South Africa at international level.[1]
