List of creatures in Minecraft

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

This article is a list of creatures in the sandbox game, Minecraft.

Allay[edit]

Allay are small flying creatures which naturally spawn in dark oak cages near a Pillager Outpost or inside jail cells within Woodland Mansions. It collects and delivers items for any player that gives it something, or any note block it hears repeatedly playing.

The allay was previously called the wisp or pixie before they were released[1]. They were first announced on October 12, as part of the mob vote for Minecraft Live 2021[2]. On October 16, 2021, they won the mob vote at Minecraft Live 2021[3]. They were added to Java Edition in snapshot 22w13a[4] as part of the 1.19 update (The Wild Update) and to Bedrock Edition in beta 1.18.10.26[5] and were officially added in Bedrock Edition 1.19.

Axolotl[edit]

Axolots are passive aquatic creatures which naturally spawn in Lush Caves. There are five colour variations: leucistic (pink), wild (brown), gold, cyan, and blue. Axolotls attack all aquatic mobs except turtles, dolphins, frogs and other axolotls. They also attack drowned.

They were first announced at Minecraft Live 2020 on October 3, 2020[6]. They were first added to Java Edition in snapshot 20w15a[7] of the 1.17 (Caves & Cliffs: Part I) update. Axolotls were added to Bedrock Edition in beta 1.16.230.52[8] with experimental gameplay enabled. In beta 1.17.0.52, they were available without enabling experimental gameplay[9].

Bat[edit]

Bats are flying passive creatures which naturally spawn in dark places underground.

They were first added to Java Edition on September 20, 2012, in snapshot 12w38a[10] of the 1.4.2 (Pretty Scary Update) update, which released on October 25, 2012[11].

Bee[edit]

Bees are flying neutral creatures, that live in bee nests and beehives.

Blaze[edit]

Blazes are flying hostile creatures which spawn in nether fortresses and attack at range by firing a trio of fireballs or can attack the player that gets too close to them with their spinning rods. They are immune to damage from fire and lava, but take damage from water.

They were first added to Java Edition on September 22, 2011 in the Beta 1.9 Prerelease, the first pre-release for Java Edition 1.0.0 (Adventure Update). They were added to Pocket Edition Alpha on July 29, 2015 in build 1 of v0.12.1, which was first released on September 4, 2015 for Fire OS. They were added to Bedrock Edition in beta 1.10.0.3

Wildfire[edit]

The Wildfire was one of the candidates for the MINECON Earth 2017 mob vote, where it was called "The Hovering Inferno". It is a type of blaze which uses its body parts that look like shields to defend itself[12]. On November 18, 2017, the mob was eliminated in the second poll on MINECON Earth 2017[13].

It was later planned to be a part of the Flames of the Nether DLC for Minecraft Dungeons, but was cut due to time constraints. A statue of it still appears in the Nether Fortress mission in that game. It was then added as a mob in the Luminous Night seasonal adventure[14].

Cat[edit]

Cats are a creature found in villages and swamp huts. Which can be tamed and used to repel creepers and phantoms.

Cats were originally added as the tamed variants of ocelots in snapshot 12w04a of the 1.2.1 update of Java Edition[15]. In the 1.14 update, cats were no longer tamed from ocelots but were tamed from stray cats that spawn naturally in villages.

Chicken[edit]

Chickens are passive creatures which naturally spawn in grass biomes. Chickens spawn naturally in the Overworld in groups of four on grass blocks with 2 blocks of free space above it at a light level of 9 or more. They do not spawn in deserts, snowy plains, ice spikes, snowy slopes, meadows, wooded badlands, jagged peaks, frozen peaks and stony peaks. In Java Edition, chickens are more common in sparse jungles. In Bedrock Edition, chickens require a light level of 7 or more to spawn and are found in groups of two to four.

Chickens were added to Java Edition in Alpha v1.0.14 (also known as "Seecret [sic] Friday 7"), which was released on July 30, 2010.
