Liuba Grechen Shirley (born 1980/1981) is an American politician running for the United States House of Representatives in New York's 2nd Congressional District in the 2018 election against incumbent Republican Peter King. She is a Democrat. On June 26, 2018 she defeated Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory in the Democratic primary election.

Shirley was born in Amityville, New York on Long Island to a Russian American family. She received a bachelor's degree in politics and Russian from New York University, and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business.[1] Shirley was the first congressional candidate to petition for and receive from the US Federal Election Commission (FEC) approval to spend a portion of campaign funds on workday childcare during the campaign to allow her to devote her full-time attention to campaigning. The FEC approved the request in May 2018, after receiving the petition as well as the support of 26 active members of Congress. At the time, Shirley's two children were two and three years old.[2]
