Livebarn Inc., is a Canadian technology company that provides internet-enabled livestreams for amateur sporting venues.

Overview

Livebarn uses a subscription model for access. Subscribers can watch events at covered facilities live as well as on-demand.[1] Livebarn pays for and maintains the internet-enabled cameras that allow viewers to watch featured events.[2][3]

The service allows families of amateur athletes to watch their games from afar, and allows league offices to review safety concerns.[4] The company also provides various sharing options, and analytics in some instances.[5]

Livebarn shares revenue with the venues where they install their cameras; the revenue share has been reported as 10% or 20%.[1][3]

Livebarn provides coverage of various sports, however ice hockey rinks make up the majority of their venues, as the company was created for the sport, before expanding into others.[6] They have a partnership with USA Hockey.[7]

History

In 2021, Susquehanna Growth Equity invested in Livebarn.[8] Also in 2021, BDC Capital, an arm of the Business Development Bank of Canada, invested $14m CAD in Livebarn.[9]

In 2023, GameOnStream, a company that provided a similar service, merged with Livebarn.[10]
