Lizet Benrey is a Mexican-American actress, painter and film director known for producing The Witching Hour, Noticed, her direction of Leonora and Gabriel: An Instant, and acting in Carving a Life.

Early life[edit]

Benrey was born in Mexico City. While attending Ibero-American University, she dated Alejandro González Iñárritu.[1] She went to Boston University, studied printmaking at Palomar College[2] and earned a degree in visual arts at University of California San Diego.[1]

Career[edit]

Benrey was drawn to art through painting. She directed a short film called Leonora and Gabriel: An Instant with painter Leonora Carrington, not long before Carrington passed away.[3] Benrey's artwork was exhibited in International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy.[4] She co-produced The Witching Hour and Noticed with Thom Michael Mulligan and acted in the film Carving a Life.[1]
