Localyze is a technology company that provides a platform for global talent mobility. The company simplifies and automates relocation and immigration processes for human resources teams and their employees. As of 2024, more than 10,000 employees have received help with visa applications.[1] As a business-to-business (B2B) company, Localyze's customers include Delivery Hero, Personio, Babbel, and FreeNow.[2]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2018 by German entrepreneurs Hanna Marie Asmussen, Lisa Maria Dahlke, and Franziska Löw. The website, localyze.com, was launched in 2018 with the focus on global workforce mobility and international talent management.[3]

In 2019, Localyze gained admission to the Y Combinator (YC) program, a prominent startup accelerator.[4] Shortly after, the company secured a $2 million seed round.[5]

In 2021, Localyze announced a $12 million in a Series A funding round[6] and one year later, in 2022, a $35 million Series B funding round led by U.S. VC fund, General Catalyst.[7] With this funding, CEO Hanna Marie Asmussen announced the company's intention to expand in the US and Canada.[8]

In 2023, the company obtained ISO27001 certification.[9]

In October 2023, Localyze hosted their second edition of Beyond Borders, a global mobility event.[10]

In February 2024, the company launched new integrations with Human Resource Management System (HRIS) tools Workday, Personio, BambooHR, HiBob, and SAP.[11]

Product and services[edit]

Localyze's product consists of a platform to manage every aspect of global mobility. HR users can compliantly manage a wide variety of cases, including relocations, work and residence permits[12], workations[13], and more. Employees receive guidance and support in every step of their immigration journey by case managers who take care of individual questions.[14]

Recognition[edit]

In 2022, Localyze was included in Otta's “Rocket List 2022” as one of the fastest-growing companies.[15] In September of the same year, CEO Hanna Marie Asmussen was awarded with the "Female Founder Award" by "The Spark".[16][17]

In November 2023, Localyze was shortlisted for the 2023 EMEA EMMAs awards for “Most Innovative Use of Technology in Global Mobility - Assignee Management" and "Relocation Management Company of the Year".[18][19]
