Lochana Munda (born 16 June 1992) is an Indian footballer who plays as a midfielder for East Coast Railway in the Odisha Women's League. She also played for the Rising Students Club and the India women's national football team.[1][2]
Club career
Munda played for Rising Students Club which won the second Indian Women's League in the 2017–18 season,[3] and was runner-up in the inaugural 2016–17 season.
She also represented East Coast Railway and Odisha Police in the Odisha Women's League and also for Odisha Police in the 2021–22 Indian Women's League.[4][5]
Munda represented her state Odisha football team in the Senior Women's Nationals and was part of the maiden and only winning squad in the 2010–11 edition.[6]
International career
Munda was part of the Indian national team at the Pre-Olympic Qualifiers in 2011. She represented India and was part of the winning squad at the 2012 SAFF Women's Championship. [7]
She was part of the national team in 2017 which played friendlies against Malaysia.[8]
Personal life
Munda hails from Sambalpur district and was coached by former state officer Balaram Matari, who trains young girls with football coaching in the region.[9] She is employed with the East Coast Railways as a staff.[10]
