Loktak Day
Loktak Day is an annual event to save fresh water lake and wildlife found in Loktak and Keibu Lamjao,[1] held on the month of October every year at the periphery of the Loktak Lake, world's only floating Island made by Phumdis in Manipur, India. [2]It is origanized by the "Loktak Ningshing Numit Committee" also known as "Loktak day celebration committee" every year since the year 1990.[3]
Goal[edit]
This event is organised for discussing the present scenario of the Loktak lake as well as the measures to preserve it's natural form.[4]
Locations[edit]
The event is generally observed at the Loktak Lairembi Lampak, in Thanga Island, the largest island in the Loktak Lake.
Themes[edit]
The theme of the event for the year 2018 is "Save Loktak, Our Life".
