London Buses route 390 is a Transport for London-contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Archway station and Notting Hill Gate, it is operated by Metroline.

History

Route 390 commenced on 1 February 2003, initially operating between Archway station and Marble Arch. It was formed when route 10, running from Archway to Hammersmith bus station, was split in two as part of service enhancements in connection with the introduction of the London congestion charge. It was operated by AEC Routemasters from Holloway garage.[1]

Upon being re-tendered, the route was retained by Metroline with a commitment to replace the AEC Routemasters in line with Transport for London policy.[2] On 4 September 2004, Plaxton President-bodied Volvo B7TLs took over the route, with it becoming a 24-hour service.[1][3] On 6 November 2004, the route was extended from Marble Arch to Notting Hill Gate, replacing route 12.[4]

New Routemasters were introduced on 7 December 2013. The rear platform remains open from Monday to Friday between 06:15 and 19:55 when it is staffed by a customer assistant.[5]

Current route

Route 390 operates via these primary locations:[6]
