Loogie.net TV, 2004, Ars Electronica, Linz, Austria

Loogie.net TV is a work by Swiss artist Marc Lee, who founded it in 2002 as the "first interactive news television station".

The software searches for texts, images and film clips from the Internet on a freely selectable topic and presents the material in the typical style of a news website (Loogie.net NEWS) or like a CNN news broadcast on television (Loogie.net TV). As there is no human intervention to order and evaluate, an artistic mixture of only seemingly "tailor-made" information and caricature of the real-time news on TV and the Internet is created.

In addition to the bilingual television programme (English and German), Loogie.net currently produces three websites in different languages. The technology is currently installed at the Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe.[1]

Loogie.net was awarded with several prizes: Award of Zurich University of the Arts (2003), tpc CreaTVty award of new media (2003) and the Switch Award (2004) Switzerland. The jury praised the "intelligent and critical commentary on our media and information age".[2]
