Loquo
Loquo was a network of local online classifieds and community websites in Spain. The main categories were housing, goods for sale, community, personals, jobs, business services, local events, and community discussion forums.
Loquo informed its users that no new advertisements would be published after June 30, 2016. All active classifieds were deleted on July 31, 2016, and the website was effectively shut down.
History
Loquo.com was launched in Barcelona in 2002 by Ubaldo Huerta and Lissette Lemus, as a clone of Craigslist.
Controversy
Loquo was acquired by eBay in May 2005 for an undisclosed amount. All listings were free up to that point. Afterwards, many sections were no longer free, and some sections were discontinued, such as the personal ads. Furthermore, there have been numerous user complaints regarding customer service.
