Lorena Santen (born: Mameli) (*24 June 1997) is a model, beauty pageant titleholder and banker.[1] She holds the title of Miss Universe Switzerland and Miss Switzerland.[2][3][4]

Lorena Santen was born in Wettingen, in the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland.[5]
Lorena Santen married in 2022.[6] Their wedding celebration was held at the prestigious The Dolder Grand in Zurich.[7]
Education[edit]
Santen trained as a bank clerk and graduated from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.[8][9] She has gained significant experience in the Swiss banking sector, with over ten years at UBS bank.[10][11][12]
Pageantry[edit]
Miss Universe Switzerland[edit]
In September 2023, Santen was crowned Miss Universe Switzerland.[3][13][14] The final event was held on 23 September 2023 at the Hilton Hotel in Geneva.[3][13] She prevailed from 15 finalists.[3][13]
72nd Miss Universe[edit]
Santen represented Switzerland at the 72nd Miss Universe Competition in El Salvador on 18 November 2023.[15] She made history as the first married woman from Switzerland and Europe to ever compete in the Miss Universe competition.
Her national costume, representing the Swiss Guard, received widespread acclaim.[16] CNN[17] and Hola![18] listed it as one of the highlights of the competition's National Costume Show. The Vatican and the Swiss Guard also positively acknowledged her costume.[16][19][20]
