Lot Fire Records[1] is an East African, Uganda based independent record label, which was established on May 11, 2020 by Bash Luks,[2][3] an artist and music executive also known as Bashir Lukonge. The inception of the music label came into fruition after the cease operations of Big Size Entertainment,[4] a music recording company owned by the previously mentioned record executive.[2]

History[edit]

Signings, musical releases, endorsements, website and application launch[edit]

Lot Fire Records was founded in 2020 by Bash Luks after the cessation of operations of the record label Big Size Entertainment in 2018.[4][5] The Lot Fire Records iOS and Android application was released in May 2021. In August 2021, Ugandan singer, songwriter, and record producer Jim Siizer joined the company's list of artists.[6] Later on in February 2022 Lot Fire Records raised US$26,900 in series A funding round led by Dada capital firms.[1] In June 2022 the company launched fast forward – a tech service for music distribution. In the end of 2022, Jim Siizer uploaded his song "Kweyagala" (loosely translated as ‘self-love’) through Lot Fire Records.[6][7] According to the founder and Chief executive officer Bash Luks, he had previously uploaded several tracks which had not gained much attention. However, in the beginning of 2023 the company could see, through the algorithms, that "Kweyagala" was doing extremely well, and so they offered the artist a deal.[1]

Lot Fire Records took over as the management company for the Ugandan musical duo known as More Tyme in 2023.[8][9]

In the year 2023, Off Ryine, a singer and songwriter, was signed by the music label.[10] His debut single titled "Potential"[11] was subsequently released in the same year.

Kefas Brand has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Lot Fire Records, effective 2024.[12]
