Lothar Charoux

Lothar Charoux was a painter, draughtsman, and teacher in Brazil. Born in Vienna, Austria, Charoux moved to São Paulo in 1928. In the 1930s, he enrolled at the São Paulo School of Arts and Crafts, where he studied painting under Waldemar da Costa. In 1947, he held his first solo exhibition at the Itapetininga Gallery. In 1952, he founded Grupo Ruptura, alongside artists such as Waldemar Cordeiro and Geraldo de Barros.
