Louis Robinson is a Canadian rugby league footballer who currently plays for the London Skolars in Championship 1. His position is primarily at prop though he can also play second row.

Robinson was born in Watford, and went to school in Rickmansworth, he is currently studying English at St Marys University, Twickenham.[citation needed] He qualified for Canadian selection via his Canadian grandparent, after responding to an article on the Canadian Rugby league website.[1][2]

In August 2011, while at Harlequins RL, he made his full international debut for Canada's 'Wolverines', aged just 20,[3] playing a key role and scoring a try in the 'Wolverines' historic 40-10 win v Jamaica in the 2011 Caribbean Carnival Cup played in Ontario, which was the Wolverines first ever competitive victory.[4][5] He went on to play in both the home and away games of the Colonial Cup v USA Tomahawks, kicking a penalty that clinched a much celebrated 18-16 home win over the Tomahawks in the second leg.[6]

In November 2011, after 6 years at Harlequins RL (Now London Broncos), Robinson left to join the London Skolars. He played 7 games for the London Skolars in the 2012 season, scoring a try on his debut against the South Wales Scorpions in a 30-38 win in Neath.[7][8]

In June 2012 he was named in 34 man squad for the Wolverine's 6 game international season,[9] Due to club commitments, he played in 3 of the games, including 2 games against the USA Tomahawks in the Colonial cup, He kicked 2 conversations in the 24-28 home defeat played before a crowd of 4675 in the Lamport Stadium, Toronto.[10] He then followed up with 10 points in the return game, which included the Wolverines second try in the 14-36 defeat which was played in Westpoint,Connecticut, USA.[11] He also featured in the last game of the 6 game season series in the 4-68 defeat to the touring England Lionhearts in Toronto.[12]

Robinson re-signed for the London Skolars for the 2013 season.[13][14] He went onto play 21 of the first 22 Skolars games, helping them to qualify for the championship one playoffs, scoring 5 tries along the way, including a try in the televised 24-42 Northern Rail Cup bowl final defeat v North Wales at Halifax's Shay Stadium.[15][16][17]

In all, he played a total of 23 of the 26 competitive games in the 2013 season, a season which London Skolars reached the playoffs, before losing away to Oldham in the final eliminator game to decide who played Rochdale in the play-off final.[18]

He was again picked in the Canadian 32 man squad for the Wolverine 2013 5 game international season.[19] Due to London Skolars club commitments, Robinson played in only two of the Wolverine games, he played in the 2nd game of the Colonial cup series, played in Philadelphia, where they lost 16-44 to the world cup bound USA Tomahawks.[20] Three weeks later he played in Toronto v the USA Tomahawks in the 3rd of the four game series. He again played a key role as the Wolverines came back from 0-28 halftime deficit scoring a try and kicking two conversions in the eventual 20-28 defeat played in front of a crowd of 3128 at the Lamport Stadium.[21]
