Louise Elisabeth Robertson (born 1964 in Northamptonshire) is a British author who is a writer of children's literature. Robertson lives and writes in Scotland.She has spent time in Indonesia and the USA, both countries have influenced her work. She is a member of The Society of Authors, UK and a fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, London.

Biography[edit]

Robertson was brought up in the village of Stoke Bruerne, where the local cricket ground and pavilion are named after her grandparents. She attended Northampton High School for Girls. Her home in Scotland is the city of Perth, and was made a 'Perth Pioneer' by the city in 2017. Her latest contribution and gift to Perth is a 57-foot mural, featuring landmarks of the city and images from Pictish times. She is actively involved in an educational and creative capacity with the Charter House Project, a project based around James VI and I in Perth.

Robertson is the author of several children's books including the Woofy Woo Woo series based on fictitious events of Malcolm, Woofy and Eileen Cooper OBE RA. Her first book in the series Ant Antics is Mantilla Loses It is now available and she has just released Woofy Woo Woo and the Grand Exhibition in time for the 250th Anniversary of the Royal Academy of Arts, London .

Robertson has had an extensive career as a head teacher of schools in England and Scotland and as a deputy in England and internationally. As an author and educator, she has contributed to educational books, the most recent a book is for early years teachers, Playful Pedagogies: Young Children Learning in an International Context.[1][2][3]

Awards[edit]

In 2017 Woofy Woo Woo won the International Book Award, sponsored by American Book Fest, in the category of Children's Picture Book: Softcover Fiction.[4]
