Background
Inspired by Steve Ray Vaughan and Van Halen, Lowercase Noises started playing guitar while in middle school in 1997. Once in college, he started playing in a blues rock band and writing his first songs influenced by Post-rock. Later he discovered music by dredg and Hammock, which have been the most influential bands for his sound.[1][2]
Other projects
In 2008, Othling teamed up as lead guitarist with Randy Bowen, Stefan Tomlinson and Jacob Fox to form a progressive rock band named Archabald.
In 2019 he launched Powerful and Normal, a YouTube video series visually inspired by vaporwave and internet memes, featuring short and playful reviews of boutique guitar effects.
