Early life[edit]

Luca Bueno was born in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil. His father is the famous Brazilian sports commentator Galvão Bueno. When Bueno was seven years old he moved to Monte-Carlo[1] to study in the International School of Monaco (ISM) which is where he learned how to speak french, english and italian, in addition to his native language of portuguese.

Bueno also is brother to Cacá Bueno, a racing driver who races for stock car in their home country of Brazil.[2]

Filmmaking was Bueno's first love and he started to pursue his dream career when he was about nine years old by making short films with his peers at school. Although making movies was what he was most interested in, acting was also an activity that he took part in, being part of many theatrical plays including In The Heights, Midsummer Night's Dream and As You Like It where he portrayed the character of Oliver.

In his teens, Bueno moved to Orlando, Florida,[3] where he attended High School at Windermere Preparatory School and went to Full Sail University's film bachelor program.[4]

Career[edit]

Before he began making his own films, Bueno was invited by filmmaker Jayme Monjardim to be intern director and a part of the production of the brazilian feature film O Vendedor de Sonhos - 2016 (The Dreamseller),[5] which was an adaptation of the successful book by Augusto Curry.[6]

Bueno started his professional career while in university by writing, producing and directing short films,[7][8] including Three[9], Hollywood Babylon and Luna[10] which he then submitted to film festivals around the United-States and the globe.

He also created a name for himself in the digital world by posting videos on his youtube channel Luca Bueno and gaining a following of nearly eight hundred thousand subscribers while in high-school, but paused the channel in order to focus on his filmmaking career.[11]
