Biography[edit]
Born in Toronto on August 22, 1990, Gray attended the Claude Watson School for the Arts and played in the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra as a teenager. After switching from double bass to guitar in his early teens, he took an interest in jazz under the influence of his father, a prominent trumpet player.[1] In 2008 he was awarded the Slaight scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music with Mike Goodrick. In 2015, he was a finalist in the first Wes Montgomery International Guitar Competition, judged by Pat Martino.[2] Gray is a Benedetto Guitars ambassador and plays their Americana model. He is currently based in Toronto.[3]
