Biography[edit]

Early life and career beginnings[edit]

Luissa Burton is the current Miss Europe World 2018 which is the first international crown win for the United Kingdom in any pageant in the last 30 years. She has represented England or the UK 5 Times internationally at various competitions worldwide, one such competition was Miss Earth which is an environmental sustainability pageant held in the Philippines. Bringing attention to environmental preservation is a passion of hers. Luissa Burton has also worked as a model for 13 years most recently for Ford Models in Miami. Her most notable work includes featuring on Ballers HBO TV show alongside Dwayne Johnson "The Rock" and as a lead model in the Wiz Khalifa music video “Celebrate”. Alongside these passions, Luissa obtained a Business and Economics degree from The University of Nottingham. Lastly she is an ambassador for the British Skin Foundation, raising awareness for eczema and psoriasis as she has random chronic flare ups which at times have covered her entire body throughout her modelling career. In October 2018 she raised money for the British Skin Foundation by climbing Europes highest mountain, Mount Elbrus and took the Miss Europe World sash to the summit to film a documentary. She stands for female empowerment and hopes to inspire others to not allow a limitation whatever that may be from achieving their dreams.

Luissa is now combining her life’s work to date into her "The Official Green" brand where she now works as an Eco/Spiritual/Empowerment influencer with the Tagline #GreenIsTheNewSexy. Her "The Official Green Queen" brand aims to influence the younger generation by showing that being and acting green is now cool, aspirational and the future. Her aim is to raise the vibration of the planet by promoting relevant brands, good vibes and good tribes. Her motto is you can choose to be a part of the solution rather than the problem.

Pageantry[edit]

Miss Europe World 2018[edit]

Luissa Burton represented the United Kingdom at the Miss Europe World 2018 pageant aired on MTV (Lebanon) in Beirut, Lebanon. She was crowned by Miss Europe World 2017, Maria Slusnyte.

Miss Earth England 2016[edit]

Luissa Burton participated at Miss Earth United Kingdom where she won the Miss Earth England 2016 title. She then flew to the Philippines to compete at the Miss Earth 2016 pageant where she competed with 82 other candidates. In the entire pre-pageant activities of Miss Earth pageant, Luissa was able to get a gold medal for the national costume competition and a bronze medal for the talent competition. She also placed in the top 16 for the first time ever for the England sash at the world final held at the Mall of Asia arena in Manila.

As a Miss Earth delegate, the representative should have an environmental advocacy that serves as her focus as part of the pageant's environmental awareness. Luissa Burton's advocacy was "Green is the new black", which was about raising awareness for environmental issues in the fast fashion and textile industry. This is due to her background in modelling since the age of 14 where she noted products were still tested on animals, lots of fur was being used and fast fashion was causing a lot of unnecessary pollution.

The Miss Earth crown was won by Katherine Espín of Ecuador.[4][5][6][7]
