Luiz Caracol, born in Elvas (Portugal) is a Portuguese singer, songwriter and guitarist.

Career

Luiz is the son of returned emigrants from Angola. He grew up in a lusophone multicultural environment that is reflected in his music.

He began his musical career as an author in 2001. Since 2002, he worked with his first band "Luiz e a Lata". In 2009 he collaborated with the group of Sara Tavares and at the same time he started his solo career.

He has performed in Portugal, Spain, England, Brazil and United States of America.

In 2014 he was the artist who represented Portugal at the Cantos na Maré festival [1], in Galicia.

In 2016 he was selected for EXIB, Iberoamerican Music Festival [2], with numerous concerts in Portugal and Spain during two years.

He has also taken part in other festivals such as O mar nunha flor (Illa de Arousa), Festas do Apóstolo (Santiago de Compostela) [3] and Noroeste Pop Rock Festival (A Coruña) [4].
